9 minutes of Sunshine for optimal Vitamin D
Friday 5th May 2023
It makes sense to top up our Vitamin D levels when the sun is at the highest, which is around 12.57pm for May/June time in the UK.
Research shows that 9 minutes of sunshine per day on face, neck and arms can equate to 1000 IU of Vitamin D3.
You don't have to burn your skin to obtain Vitamin D, though the darker the skin, the longer it takes to absorb Vitamin D due to more melanin which absorbs ultraviolet radiation (UVR) and blocks Vitamin D absorption.
Vitamin D deficiency can lead to Osteoporosis, low immune function and fatigue. A quick 9 minute walk per day
